Properties Overview

There are two types of work schedules: company and employee. Company schedules define standard work and non-work days and company holidays. Employee schedules derive from company schedules but may include modifications that reflect the employee’s personal schedule.

If no modifications have been made to an employee’s work schedule, the properties match those defined in the company work schedule.

Work schedule modifications that are specific to one employee or a group of employees, are made from the Edit Date/Day of Week Properties dialog box. Prior to opening the dialog box, you must decide whether the change applies only to one specific date on the calendar or to a particular day of any given week.

When you select a date from the calendar (for example, March 10th), any modification you make, such as changing it a non-workday, applies only to that single date. By contrast, when you select a day heading on the calendar (Saturday, for example), the change is applied to that day in both the current week and all future weeks.

If you are supervisor and you are displaying multiple work schedules, you can only change the date properties. You cannot modify properties for a day of the week unless you switch to single-employee view.
